Dr. Patelski grew up on the northwest side of Chicago. He graduated Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1978 in the top 4% of his class. Continuing education is very important to Dr. Patelski. In 1998 he received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, then his Mastership in 2005. The Academy of General Dentistry is an international organization of 40,000 general dentists worldwide. It is the second largest dental association.

The fellowship required 500 hours of approved continuing dental education credits and pass a comprehensive 400 question exam. The mastership required an additional 600 hours. Only 2% of general dentists have received this award.

Dr. Patelski is a long-time resident of Downers Grove. He practiced dentistry in downtown Downers Grove for over 30 years, and is semi-retired. He enjoys the outdoors and farming. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society. And he was a founding member of the Advanced Dental Study Club. (a local dental study club).

Dr. Patelski is a supporter of conservation organizations and Wounded Warriors.
